CHRISTIAN FAMILY MOVEMENT - CFM
The mission of the Christian Family Movement is to promote Christ-Centered marriage and family life; to help individuals and their families to live the Christian faith in everyday life; and to improve society through actions of love, service, education and example.
The Christian Family Movement is an international organization whose main office is located in our own Catholic diocese.
The Christian Family Movement groups commonly gathers once a month in the home of one of the CFM families. One family provides their home for the meeting, one family leads the meeting, and one family provides the snack. The CFM couples feel this is a great "date night" as there is social time after the discussion. Single parents have also participated and are welcome and invited to come. Prior to each meeting adult CFM members, either individually or as a couple, read a two page chapter from a CFM book that promotes observation, judging and action of everyday family issues. Meetings are a casual discussion of the chapter with thoughts and input welcome, but not required.
Family activities also occur about every other month. Some of the family activities have included: weekend camping in New Harmony, family game nights in the cafetorium, fall bonfire and hayride, family Easter egg hunt, familiy pitch-in dinners, and boating on the Ohio.
The contact people for our current group are Brenda Born and Judy Bradley. If you are interested in learning more, please feel free to contact them. The Christian Family Movement is a great way to meet other church families and form lasting friendships with fellow parishioners.
